Animal Dances

Auspicious animals and beings are always welcomed by people and cherished as an auspicious symbols.

Although many are mythical beings, they often appear in dance form during auspicious ocassions and festive celebrations.

The dragon and lion dances are the most well known animal dances but there are and other forms of animal dances as well. Here is our WIP list of animal dances.

Famous for its hidden meanings in the Anti Manchu movement.

The most common and often seen of the various animal dances.

Aucpicious dragons are always a welcome sight in any social or festive celebrations and most common of the animal dances.

Qilin Dance 麒麟舞
Less common than other dances but an important part of Cantonese and Hakka heritage.
