Chinese Theatre Circle is a award wining, non profit professional Chinese opera comany in Singapore. They have performed all over the world presenting their art form.

Every Friday and Saturday, Chinese Theatre Circle presents the "Sights and Sounds of Chinese Opera" in Singapore Chinatown.

The program includes dinner, an introduction to Chinese opera followed by a short performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about a traditional Chinese art form in the heart of Singapore Chinatown.

A little oasis of culture situation at one end of the food market in Smith Street, Chinatown. I was lucky to "stumble" into it after hearing a glimpse of Chinese opera through a door that someone had just walked through. This was during the afternoon "karaoke" session!!

Staff were warmand welcoming. Food tasty though simple.

In brief, a "must" for anyone interested in anything more than just shopping and cheap hamburgers.
