Constructed by the Thai-Chinese for King Bhumibol’s 72th birthday and officially unveiled on 5 Dec 1999. The four Chinese characters “圣寿无疆” (Long live the King) were written by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Bangkok Chinatown or Yaowarat was established in 1782 when the Siam King shifted his capital to the south of the Chao Phrya River. Bangkok Chinatown is one of the oldest Chinatowns in the world.
